LFC-Huntersville: Fall Financial Update
November 14, 2019Hey Lake Forest:
Based on a recent survey we sent to Ministry Partners, we heard very clearly that you would like more frequent and more in-depth information about our financials. I’m happy to share an extended update with you today.
First, well done to those of you prioritizing God’s Kingdom work, in a sacrificial way with your finances! You make LFC a generous church. We know that many of you have felt called to invite God into your financial life by growing your generosity toward a tithe – what concrete step might you take this month in that direction?
Ministry & Mission Giving Through October
- Budgeted Giving: $1,655,160
- Actual Given: $1,662,735
- +$ 7,575 / +0.46%
Our Elders and finance team budgeted carefully and prayerfully for 2019 and WOW your generosity almost precisely matches that budget year-to-date (by less than 1%). Our ministry and mission expenses – to disciple children/teens/adults weekly in the way of Jesus – are under budget year-to-date also, meaning we are in a healthy operating condition financially. November and December are the months we depend upon the largest amount of giving, so let’s finish the year strong in financial generosity, keeping the mission of LFCH on a healthy footing to “Love people as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.”
Immeasurably More ‘One More Person’ Giving: April 2017-October 2019
- Given: $3,219,343
- Pledged: $4,026,379
- 80% to goal (the pledge period ends March 30, 2020)
Immeasurably More is the vision and giving campaign to make room for ‘One More Person whose given up on church but not on God’ here on Gilead Road. Through your generosity, our church expanded parking by 45%, doubled our dedicated Children’s space, doubled the lobby into community space, added the preschool, coffee shop and prayer garden. Today, it’s hard for me to imagine our campus and ministries pre-Immeasurably More!
Thus far, those of you who have given over and above your pledge amount have precisely equaled the amount of people (so far) telling us they cannot complete their pledge. At this point, we anticipate being in need of more new gifts (from folks who weren’t here to pledge in 2017) and exceeded pledges to be sure we complete these projects with no new congregational debt.
Friends, as you plan (like Angie and I) to complete your pledge faithfully, please remember this is over-and-above offerings, in addition to our normal monthly or annual tithe.
Thank you for trusting Lake Forest to steward resources on your behalf for God’s mission – in our church, in our community and around the world.
I pray you experience great joy as you give.
Your Fan,
Mike Moses
