Some exciting stuff going on!
In early 2022, with the blessing of the whole Lake Forest Family of Churches, LFCD will take our next step of maturity to become a free-standing local church. When we do become a local church, we will proceed under a different name – Storyhill Church – to avoid any confusion, as a mutually agreed upon part of the blessing from LFC. This will be a gradual process (requiring a lot of work behind the scenes), and we are excited to keep you as up to date as possible along the way. You can read all the detailed info & FAQ’s on this here. Whatever we are called, let’s continue to love God, love people & keep Christ at the center.
Here at Lake Forest-Davidson,
We know that not everyone who walks through the doors of our “sanctuary” is on the same page. Some of us are only at church because we were pressured into it, some of us have burning questions that we can’t seem to shake, some of us have just recently decided to pursue Jesus, some of us are figuring out who Jesus is to us, and some of us can’t remember a time when we didn’t know Jesus. Regardless of where you fit in that spectrum, we want Lake Forest Davidson to be a safe place; a place to learn and grow and change, and to do so in community. Additionally, we encourage our congregation to get involved with the work that God is doing in and among us, whether by serving on a Sunday morning or in our local community. This is why we refer to our “members” as Ministry Partners. No one is a bystander in God’s story; he wants to work in – and through – all of us.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Maybe the best first step is that you join us for worship sometime soon. We would love it! Our Sunday services happen “in the round” and feature a time of singing and preaching that encourage loving God, loving others, and keeping Jesus Christ central. We have a team of worship leaders and teachers who share these responsibilities; the team approach avoids a cult of personality and lets us benefit from a diversity of perspectives. So long as you don’t have it all together, you’ll fit right in.
