Welcome 101

If you’re new to Lake Forest Davidson and you are looking for opportunities to make connections and grow in your faith, the best starting place is our Welcome 101 course.

During these sessions, our pastors will lead you on a journey to help you identify where you are spiritually and also help you define your next step. As you discover your role in God’s story, you’ll build relationships, find places to share your gifts and have an opportunity to become a LFC Ministry Partner (our term for member).

Must attend both days of session (Sat/Sun).

Ladies Jonah: Navigating Life Interrupted

Interruptions. They’re aggravating. Sometimes infuriating. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! Priscilla Shirer redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city.

This will be a 6 month study. We take 3 weeks to study each chapter accompanied by a video.  You can purchase the book here.

We will begin meeting in person outside in the Stamey driveway as weather permits and will determine meetings space as mandates come or go.

Thursdays | September 23 – March 31 | 9:30-11:30am | @ The Stamey Home (118 Charter Pl. Mooresville socially distanced outside) | Led by: Joy Stamey (jstamey57@gmail.com)

Ladies She Reads Truth: Acts

Just prior to Pentecost, Jesus told His followers that the Holy Spirit would empower them to carry His gospel throughout the world. The book of Acts follows the early Church as it fulfills Jesus’s words, in spite of outside threats and persecution. This action-packed narrative is more than a historical account. It is the story of Jewish and Gentile believers learning how to live out the gospel together in community as the family of God.

Over six weeks, we will read all twenty-eight chapters of the book of Acts. Join us as we journey from Jerusalem to Rome, deepening our understanding of the Holy Spirit’s presence in the body of Christ and God’s plan of salvation for the entire world.   Select a location that is convenient for you where we will plan to gather weekly to go over questions.  More details will follow for the location leaders.

Email Lindy Glass (lindy_glass@yahoo.com) with any questions.

High School Community Groups

Who: Open to all High Schoolers (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades)

What: During our community group gatherings, we will be studying the Bible together, discussing God’s word and its application to our lives, praying together and enjoying fellowship in a small group setting. We are hoping that students will be able to engage in authentic relationships with one another as they learn more about Jesus and dig into their relationship with Him. The leaders are all here to walk alongside your students as they navigate their personal God Stories.

This semester specifically we will be studying what it means to be a part of the church and the body of Christ. Students will be exploring spiritual gifts that are given to Christians by the Holy Spirit and learning about what their spiritual gifts may be and how they can use those to glorify God within the church.

When: Sunday evenings @ various locations.
9th/10th grade, email Noah Satterfield (nsatterfield@lakeforest.org).
11th/12th grade, email Jordan Hart (jordandorahart@gmail.com).
