This is US

In case you don’t know, “This Is Us” is also the name of a TV show on NBC (set to begin its third season in September), which follows a family through several decades. It’s one of those shows that’s not only acclaimed by critics, but also viewers who are finding themselves – and their families – reflected back to them through the complexity of the relationships highlighted.

But, as fanatical as some of us may be about the show, we are not going to spend five weeks preaching on its virtues. THIS IS US is a message series about finding God within the relationships that matter most to us. Family dynamics and friendships are messy and tough: we live that reality daily. But God has wisdom in the Scripture of how to do relationships well. So, let’s listen in.

Note: We’ll use the show sporadically as a tool to exemplify conversations or situations many of us can relate to, but you won’t feel left out if you’ve never seen it.
