The BibleJourney FAQs

We’re so excited to share The Whole Story with you and we realize there’s a lot to take in as you explore ways to get involved. We’re here to help! Below you’ll find answers to some frequently asked questions. Have a question that’s not listed? Please email LFCH@lakeforest.org.

  • How do I sign up for Bible Journey?

    Everyone following along with Bible Journey, whether individually, within a small group, or with the discovery course, will want to sign up for access to the Bible Journey program. (Only one account is necessary per household.) These are the steps.
    1. REGISTER HERE (this will open in a new tab)
    2. Select your registration option in the drop-down box (there is an option here for those who need a scholarship) and provide your email address. Click “Next.” (The total cost will be displayed as $0.00. Payment takes place in a later step.)
    3. This will generate an email from LFC with Bible Journey access confirmation. In that email is a link to create your Bible Journey account at biblejourney.com. Click that link.
    4. Create your account at biblejourney.com.
    5. You will be asked for credit card information, but your total cost at the time of registration will be $0.00 due to a 14-day free trial. After that trial ends, your card will be charged $37.50 for the 1-year subscription.
    6. Once your registration is complete, you may begin to familiarize yourself with Bible Journey! We recommend beginning with “Before you begin: journey Prep,” which can be found near the top-right of the landing page.

  • What's the difference between Studies, Courses, and Lessons?

    Bible Journey as a whole is broken down into six studies. Each study contains 7-8 courses, and each course has five lessons.

    At Lake Forest, we are encouraging you to do one lesson in each course each week (though of course you are welcome to do more than that!).

    That’s why the guide will tell you to, for example, to complete Study 1, Course 1, Lesson 1.

    The cost of BibleJourney ($37.50) gives you full access to all of the content for a whole year.

  • How should I use Bible Journey?

    There are three main ways we would love for you to use the Bible Journey material.

    1. As an Independent Study – work through the content at your own pace, or stay up with the rest of the church. You can do as much or as little as works for you.
    2. With your Small Group – You can do the assigned lesson for the week before your group meets, or watch the content together, and then have discussion based on the workbook questions and supplemental questions provided by the church.     3. As an Intensive Class – led by two Ministry Partners, this is a deeper dive into the content, with a greater time commitment as you will cover more of the material. This first course, called “BibleJourney 1: The Pentateuch” will meet every other week on Wednesday evenings on zoom, starting January 20th. To participate in this course, please REGISTER HERE.

  • I'm interested in joining a Community Group that is doing Bible Journey together, how can I do that?

    To take a first step, please email belong@lakeforest.org to be connected to a group.

  • What if I fall behind?

    You start again. The most important thing is that you don’t give up.

    Unless you are taking the Class within the LFC School of Ministry, there’s no need to go back and try to catch up. We suggest picking up with the suggested lesson for that week.
