Thanks for stopping by to check us out!
We may not have an official “women’s ministry team” (per say) at Lake Forest Davidson, because we are enthusiastic about developing a culture in which women to whom LFCD is considered home, begin to look around to see who else needs to be at the table.
We want ladies that are in a hard or dry time to be invited to just come safely and unapologetically to receive from Bible studies or one of our Discovery Courses. For those who are in a place to give and serve, we love to know their strengths and giftings in order to pray through how God can use them at LFCD to share Christ’s love with the women in our community. Our hope is to move women from considering LFCD as a place they go to church to knowing that LFCD is their church home.
We do not have this all figured out, but are slowly growing and seeing the hand of the Lord at work. As our lead pastor Michael Flake says almost every Sunday … “So long as you don’t have it all together, you’ll fit right in.”
Here are a few areas of what we currently have to offer:
Bible Studies:
Each spring, summer, and fall we have new Bible studies and Discovery Courses, that usually take place once a week and are at various locations, days, and times. Bible studies are a great way to get connected! These are typically set up like a small group where you start and end the semester with the same group, but feel free to change if you go to the first study and recognize that it’s not a good fit for you! (And please let us know if you need help finding a study that is a good fit!) We cannot speak more highly of our teachers! They are all truly serving in their giftedness of teaching the Bible!
Cuppas: (CURRENTLY ON HOLD)
Cuppas are small and simple gatherings where people can have slower conversation, getting to know each other’s stories. Everyone brings their own “cuppa” tea, coffee, water, etc and we all hang out and talk. You don’t have to RSVP, be on time, or stay for an entire Cuppa. The purpose of the Cuppas is to get to know others and be known outside of Sunday mornings! We have one each season and it is a drop-in/hang out casual atmosphere from 7-8:30pm.
Women’s Fall Retreat Nov. 5th/6th:
Join us for a fall weekend of worship and learning at Oak Street Mill as we deepen our relationships with God and one another.
