A Serve Team is a group of people willing to share their time, energy, and gifts with others for the benefit of the whole church. Serve Teams are the practical outworking of the Ministry Partner concept at Lake Forest Church. Click through and learn how to get involved in one of our wonderful Serve Teams below.
Here is your chance to be in a rotation of leaders who serve children (infants to 5th grade) and their families each week. Our priority is to provide dedicated, joyful and nurturing leaders who will build relationships with kids. On Sunday mornings in person, we are serving babies-5th grade. Virtually and in other creative ways, we come alongside families as they grow spiritually. If the idea of helping kids know God’s love and His truth more deeply excites you, this is the team for you! Per our policy everyone who works with our children must pass a background check.

One way we try to serve and care for college students is through our college breakfast, where a team of ministry partners prepare and serve a light breakfast to our students after the 9:15 service. If you care about college students, consider joining the team!

Are you awesome with social media presence? Do you love to pull people into a positive & engaging online experience? Do you have 3 hours, 1 Sunday per month? Then this is for you! We’d love to have you with being our “facebook live host”, reach out for details and a possible coffee meet-up.

Think of sitting on your front porch greeting your neighbors as they walk by. If that excites you, God has equipped you to be a greeter. Just think, you get to say hello to, and share a smile with, every person who comes to worship. Team members are usually asked to be willing to serve every three to four weeks.

The meals team coordinates meals for our LFC-Davidson family when a need arises. Families take care of one another. Providing a meal for another member of the church family is an easy and Biblical way to serve one another.

Our mission is simply to “love teenagers as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.” We believe that their relationships with leaders, their peers and the extended family of LFCD are all valuable to a foundation of mature faith. We have opportunities to lead small that do not have to be long term commitments, or we have opportunities to lead consistently for the year. Please reach out if you are curious about serving and loving our middle school or high school teenagers. We’d love to hear how the Lord may be calling you into our mission of loving teens right where they are and helping them see who Christ made them to be. Team Leaders: Lindsey Ammons (lammons@lakeforest.org) & Noah Satterfield (nsatterfield@lakeforest.org)
These teams transform the LKN YMCA into a place of worship, and then back into a gymnasium again, every Sunday. It’s not rocket science, it’s more important than that. It’s not backbreaking; it’s easier than you might think as long as there are many hands. Team members are usually asked to be willing to serve once every 3 weeks. Team Leader: Maggie Pope (mpope@lakeforest.org)
Arriving at 7am team members assist the worship team to unpack our gear, set up the truss, chairs, the entry tables and signage for the KIDS, Youth & College Breakfast areas. It takes about 45 min-an hour each time you serve.
Starting a few minutes after the second service we pack up all our belongings (Worship Arts, Youth, KIDS, College Breakfast, & Communications) and place them in on-site storage sheds. The goal is to make The Y look better than when we arrived.
The worship arts teams creatively use imagery, sound, voice, texture, lyric, design, word, instrument, technology and song to facilitate a ‘position of worship’ within the heart of our church. And that list is by no means exhaustive! Whatever your creative and/or technical medium may be, we’d love to help you find just the right place to use it in creating winsome and engaging spaces for all who come!
Team Leader: Matt Glass (mglass@lakeforest.org) & Hollins Worsley (hollins@lakeforest.org)
